About the Wales Coast Path.

The Wales Coast Path is one of a few continuous footpaths in the world and it follows the entire coastline in Wales. Measuring 870 miles / 1,400 km long, there are north and south points in Chester (north) and Chepstow (south), it attracts many visitors on a local, national and global scale.

It is mainly a walking route, only accessible on foot but there are sections suitable for cycling and wheelchair users.

The best way to appreciate the path’s unique and diverse appeal is to simply take your time and enjoy making your way round the stunning Welsh coastline. The path is divided into 8 regional sections– all distinct in their own way.

Although you can walk the entire length in one go, most people choose to walk one section, possibly near to home or where they are staying and then get the bug and decide to do the entire path – a fantastic challenge to take on!
